How I got into fitness...
I wasn’t always interested in fitness, but after having my first daughter, I felt the need to start exercising. As she grew, I realized how important it was. Ten years ago, I discovered indoor cycling and tried spin classes on base. I was skeptical at first, but I quickly realized how fun and effective it was. Even during tough times, spin helped me manage stress and stay grounded. It’s the best way to work out, combining great music with a sense of accomplishment in just one hour—benefiting both the body and mind.
Why I want to teach...
Spin builds stamina and works the entire body, offering a mix of aerobic exercise and strength training. It not only improves your physique but also helps you shape and tone muscles. You can challenge yourself at your own pace, making it accessible for all ages. The benefits for both body and mind are immense, and I want to share this with more people in Japan. After years as a student, I began teaching two years ago and absolutely love it. Plus, it’s a fun way to practice English!
A little about me...
I was born and raised in Okinawa, and through my international marriage, I spent time between the U.S. and Okinawa, learning a lot from both places. With a long career in the beauty industry, I realized that exercise is key to both beauty and a healthy life, especially after giving birth to my four daughters. Now, with eight grandchildren who call me 'CC' instead of Grandma, I’m committed to living a life without excuses—embracing fun, passion, and health with my family, friends, and everyone around me.

How I got into fitness...
I've never been a serious athlete and have never been into sports or fitness other than playing neighborhood sports in elementary school. In early 2012, here in Okinawa, I began utilizing the gym on a more regular basis and participated in lunchtime spin classes at Gunners gym. After two or three years of dedicated attendance and greatly increased endurance, I decided to become a spin instructor, mainly to be in charge of the music and to make it even more rhythmic and fun.
Why I want to teach...
I enjoy motivating others with music and positive energy while helping them strive towards their fitness goals! My strengths tend to be in musicality and performance and not so strong on the athleticism or strict cycling techniques.
A little about me...
I am a Clinical Psychologist and have my Bachelors in Sociology, Masters in Community Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. I also go by DJ "WonderBread J" The name WonderBread J originated in school, when my hip-hop loving group of friends, gave me the monicker. I have no family on Okinawa, other than my kitty-boys (DJ Scratchalot and Number 2) and enjoys music, friends, and exercise. You may see me Djing at a military ball or local bar, or with friends out to eat, or at the gym lifting weights or spinning! Okinawa is a beautiful home for me now and Gambatte......
